Export Quality Standards: Singapore & India
Singapore Compliance (SFA & NParks)
- Food Safety (SFA): Categorized as "Non-Specified Food". Buyers must have an SFA import license and comply with pesticide/heavy metal limits.
- Plant Health (NParks): For whole cloves (HS 090710), a Phytosanitary Certificate from Indonesia is mandatory to mitigate plant disease risks.
India Compliance (FSSAI)
Upon arrival at Indian ports (e.g., Nhava Sheva or Chennai), FSSAI officers will conduct laboratory sampling. A No Objection Certificate (NOC) is required for customs clearance.
FSSAI Laboratory Standards
- ✓ Ash Content: Maximum 5%
- ✓ Mouldy Cloves: 2% - 5% Maximum
- ✓ Moisture Level: Below 12%
- ✓ Extraneous Matter: Maximum 1%
- ✓ Karung Goni: Must use new 50kg Gunny Bags
Export Packaging & Labeling Requirements
To prevent chemical and odor contamination, we strictly use new, clean gunny bags (usually 50 kg). Labels must be in English and include: Product Name (Cloves), Country of Origin (Indonesia), Net Weight, and Exporter & Importer Details.
